Privacy policy

In short

GYM Paper doesn't ask you to create an account, doesn't show ads, doesn't track you and doesn't sell your data. What you enter stays on your device and in your own iCloud account; the developer can't access it.

What data, and where?

• Your workout, nutrition, water, measurement and profile data is stored on your device. If iCloud is on, it syncs between your devices through Apple's private iCloud database (your Apple Account only).
• Apple Health: With your permission, steps, active energy, weight, height, date of birth and sex are read and used to calculate and show your calorie needs. Completed workouts and the weight you enter are written to Health. Health data is never sent to iCloud, servers or third parties, and is never used for advertising or marketing.
• Widgets: a summary of the day is kept in a shared file on the device; this file is excluded from iCloud backup.
• Photos: photos you add to foods and exercises are stored only with your own data.

Requests that go online

• Food search and barcodes: the search text you type or the barcode you scan is sent to Open Food Facts and FatSecret (through our relay server) to find results. These requests contain no identity, Health data or log.
• The camera is used only when you open it, to scan barcodes and take photos; images are not sent anywhere.

Notifications

With your permission, local notifications are shown on your device when your rest ends and, if you turned it on, at your fasting times; no remote notifications are sent.

Deleting your data

Use Profile › Export your data to get your records as CSV or JSON. Deleting the app deletes the data on the device. You can delete the iCloud copy in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › GYM Paper. Records written to Health are managed in the Health app.

Children

GYM Paper is not designed for children under 13.
